Fundraising and activities

Each year parent volunteers participate in a huge range of activities at the school, from covering library books to working in the edible garden (see the Getting involved tab).

In addition, the P&C organises and/or participates in a few larger events and activities – some social, some fundraisers and some to assist the school.

Gardening bees

Each term the P&C organises a gardening bee on a Sunday afternoon from 2–5pm. Gardening bees are a great way to help keep the school green and healthy, meet other families and let kids build friendships with children beyond their classmates. Families BYO gardening equipment and meet at the bottom gate (near the play equipment).

Fundraising

One of the roles of the P&C each year is to raise funds to provide services, facilities and equipment for the school.

Funds are generally raised through activities and events, but contributions are also made by the school's Uniform Shop. Each activity or event involves a volunteer coordinator, a small planning team and lots of helpers on the day. No-one particularly enjoys planning events on their own, so all volunteers are warmly welcomed.

Animal sculptures for sale

As an ongoing fundraiser, the P&C facilitates the sale of the metal garden sculptures designed by Dully students, in 2013 and that can be found throughout our School garden.

Further information regarding about these iconic sculptures & purchase information and how to buy them can be found here: Garden Sculpture Information / Garden Sculpture Prices.

Orders can be made via Dulwich Hill Public School's fundraising page at www.flexischools.com.au (Paypal/Direct Debit) or by obtaining an order form (cash/cheque) here, or from the School Office.
